Minutes from May 6, 2025 Zoom Meeting

Meeting opened at 6:04pm.

Members Present: Derek Daniels, Mitch Kagen, Pat Wiedhopf, Val Reynolds, Miki Zeman

Members Absent: Sara Read, Cheryl Hoffman, Jake Byron, Sharon Spiker

Minutes from the 04/07/25 meeting were approved.

Treasurer’s Report:

Membership account balance as of May 6, 2025: $4,822.55

Membership update: 54 households (4 new)

Donor Plaque account balance as of April 7, 2025: $3,675.93

Website Report: No news to report in Sara and Jake’s absence!

Committee Updates:

• Archaeology Report – Balance of April 7, 2025: $4,252.06

Park Stewardships: below will be updated to reflect out of towner schedules

Business Updates:

• The 2026 City budget was presented and is under review and discussion. The budget will be voted upon in May for the fiscal year that begins on July 1, 2025.

• We won’t be attending any more meetings related to street improvements. Any issues should be addressed via 311.

• Pat will check the water fountain in the park for leaks and call 311 as appropriate.

• Derek put up the recently purchased sign.

• Movie Night and Meet the Board was successful, though we aim for more participation.

• Mitch will send pictures to us from Movie Night!

• Interest in a Fall Garage Sale will be assessed.

• Next DAC meeting is June 26, 2025, from 6-8pm. This info will be posted on the website.

• A new TPD Captain will be coming on board soon.

• The next Brush and Bulky pickup is scheduled for June 30, 2025.

• Roll-offs are scheduled for October 3, 2025.

• Weed emergent treatment by John Harbison will be investigated now that we have a new number for him (520-433-0433).

• Miki raised the issue of graffiti on the bridge and garbage in the washes. Miki and Pat will call 311.

New Business:

• Discussion took place on the grant request to the Tohono O’odham Nation submitted last year. Val will draft the grant request this year with Pat’s assistance for review by the Board.

• Future newsletters: The Board agreed that there is still a need to distribute newsletters (in addition to Facebook and other social media). The Board unanimously agreed that Pat should purchase additional door-knocker bags. 2,000 bags for $93.00+. Mitch moved, Val seconded the purchase up to $150.

Next regular Board meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 2, 2025 at 6pm.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:00pm.
