2024 Annual Meeting

Board members present: Pat Wiedhopf, Mitch Kagen, Cheryl Hoffman, Sharon Spiker, Miki Zeman, Val Reynolds, Sara Read, Jacob Byron, and Derek Daniels

Association members present: George Sites and Eva Medina-Lehr

The meeting was called to order and the welcome to association members was given by Derek Daniels at 10:00 am. The Vista Del Rio Board members and association members introduced themselves.

2023 Annual Meeting minutes: a motion was made by Val to accept the minutes, seconded by Mitch and the minutes were voted on and approved by the Board.

Treasurer Report – Val Reynolds

Membership Account : Membership Update : 66

Ending 2024 balance $2,948.06

Beginning 2025 balance $2,948.06

A motion was made by Cheryl Hoffman and seconded by Derek Daniels to approve the Treasurer’s Report. The Report was approved by all board members

Donor Plaque Account: $3936.96 unchanged during 2024.

Committee Reports

2025 Nominations Committee – Sharon Spiker

A motion was made by Val Reynold and seconded by Sara Read to elect the slate for the Board of Directors: Pat Wiedhopf, Sharon Spiker and Val Reynolds by acclamation. Motion passed. Their term ends February 2028.

Website – Sara Read

Sara Read gave an update on VDR website. All minutes and events are posted with updated links to the City of Tucson. There are 19 site members and 12 reached out to contact us. There were 562 visits to the website.

Archaeology Committee – Sharon Spiker

Sharon Spiker submitted 2024 Report - $4,252.06 in the account. $2,400 to Old Pueblo Archaeology Center for the Day at the Park event October 19, 2024.

TPD Operation Division East-Division Advisory Committee (DAC) – Mitch Kagen

Mitch explained DAC to those present. Call 311 for any issue that is not a crime in progress. Attending the quarterly meetings is the best opportunity to engage TPD for any issue. It was noted that anyone may attend the meetings and if interested call Mitch. The location: TPD Operation Division East: 9670 E Golf Links.

Cultural Park stewardship and clean-up

Collected donations for Food Bank and toys for Christmas distribution

Wash cleanup with City of Tucson

Roll-off dumpster placements

Holiday decorating contest 1 st , 2 nd , 3 rd Place Winners

Coordinated Park cleanup with Brush/Bulky pickup

Active liaison with police

Newsletters and flyers distribution

New street signage, speed humps painting

Many other activities throughout the year

Progress of the streets resurfacing – Derek Daniels

The Independent Oversight Accountability Committee meetings were attended by Board members and Vista Del Rio residents. Vista Del Rio streets repavement is nearing completion.
