Minutes from April 7,2025 Zoom Meeting

Meeting opened at 6:00pm.

Members Present: Derek Daniels, Cheryl Hoffman, Mitch Kagen, Jake Byron, Pat Wiedhopf, Sharon Spiker, Val Reynolds, Miki Zeman

Members Absent: Sara Read

Minutes from the 3/17/25 meeting were approved.

Treasurer’s Report:

Membership account balance as of April 7, 2025: $4,445.52

Membership update: 50 households (3 new)

Donor Plaque account balance as of April 7, 2025: $3,935.96

Arizona Income Taxes ($50.00) and Arizona Corporate Commission Fees ($10.00) have been submitted. Taxes mailed 4/7/25 (due 4/15/25) and ACC fees submitted 4/5/25 (due 6/17/25).

It was noted that Fred and Mary Bossmeyer have moved. They have been removed from the VDR dues list.

Website Report: Jake has WIX access in Sarah’s absence. He is monitoring the website and removing bots as needed. He will post the next newsletter on the website.

Committee Updates:

• Archaeology Report – Balance of April 7, 2025: $4,252.06

Park Stewardships: no changes

It has again been acknowledged that there is a problem with people curbing their dogs.

Business Updates:

• With Zelle operational, Jake will get the information/e-mail out using a QR code that will contain Val’s e-mail address that links to the account. Zelle payments will be noted as such on the funds status report (VDR dues tab). Val, Derek, and Jake to work on this before the next newsletter is issued/distributed.

• Ward 2 news: Mitch is sharing Paul Cunningham’s and TPD’s newsletters.

• A tentative City budget has been proposed. The budget will be voted upon in May for the fiscal year that begins on July 1, 2025 (FY 2026).

• Panhandling ordinance passed: One light cycle and/or passing through. No enforcement yet.

• Next DAC meeting is June 26, 2025, from 6-8pm. This info will be posted on the website.

• Water runoff: OK unless it erodes the street. No chlorinated water should be drained.

• Casa Rio trimmings have been cleared up.

• The next Brush and Bulky pickup is scheduled for June 30, 2025.

• Cheryl will follow up on the next roll-off dates (October 2025). Information will be shared with Casa Rio.

• Garage sale idea is tabled.

• Cultural Resources Park pavement drainage status (rough, uneven) unchanged.

New Business:

Derek and Jake have put up the overlaminate and will put up the recently purchased sign.

Weed emergent: John has been out of contact. A different option may need to be considered.

Miki pointed to trash in the wash near LaCienega. A call to 311 was placed. This issue is “in the queue” to be addressed.

Spring Activities:

• Meet the Board/Movie in the Park event scheduled for April 26, 2025. Casa Rio may participate. Derek has provided a checklist of responsibilities for the event (refreshments, equipment, etc.). Pat will bring name tags for Board members!

• Next newsletter: Pat will have the newsletters ready for distribution by Friday, April 11th.

Jake will distribute on Val’s and Mitch’s routes.

Derek will distribute on his and Sara’s routes.

Next regular Board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 6pm.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:02pm.
