Vista Del Rio Archaeology Celebration

Old Pueblo Archaeology are joining us for a family friendly educational day in the park. This is a child focused educational program, where children will have opportunities to learn about the Native American prehistory and history of the American Southwest, and particularly about the native cultures of southern Arizona and Tucson’s Vista del Rio Hohokam archaeological site. 

This event is open to the general public and will include activities throughout the park, including:

• Demonstrations of traditional Native American crafts such as pottery-making and flintknapping.
• Hands-on activities including making pottery and other artifacts that participants can take home; grinding corn with a stone metate and mano; and learning to play a traditional Native American game.
• Informational handouts.
